GreenTech Wheeler/Dealer
GreenTech has been a great go-between for the acquisition of all sorts of materials from island businesses:
When islander Jeff Thurlow wanted to donate the contents of his boat interior building business on Capitol Hill, GreenTech accepted the gift. With the help of many islanders, the contents of the 7,000 sq ft shop were brought to the island. Part of the inventory was sold and the rest is presently in storage until the possibility of creating a woodworking business that will be a source of learning and financial gain to adults and young people can be realized.
GreenTech also acquired some metal shelving from a remodel when True Value Hardware was sold to Ace Hardware. Some of the shelves went to Granny’s, various members of the community, and the rest is in use at the Vashon Tool Library.
Islander Tom Bangasser acquired a quantity of 18” x 18” TV screens and asked GreenTech if they could facilitate their donation to the Vashon Theatre. This project is still in development.
